Industry-Integrated Internship

Industry-Integrated Internship Program

IIIP simulates a real junior-developer job. You join a team, pick up tickets from a backlog, ship features through pull requests, get code reviewed by your peers and mentors, and integrate-test before every merge.

What you'll experience

Real PR workflow

Open pull requests, request reviewers, address feedback, and merge — the same flow used in every engineering team at scale.

Integration testing

Write end-to-end and integration tests before you merge. Learn what it means to ship features that don't break production.

AI-augmented coding

Use Claude and AI utilities the way industry teams ship in 2026. Build the habit of evaluating AI output, not blindly pasting it.

Design decisions you can defend

Weekly mentor reviews mean you must justify your architectural choices — not just submit code that happens to work.

Program curriculum

Phase 1

Onboarding & Foundations

  • Meet your team and assign GitHub roles (lead, reviewer, integrator)
  • Set up the shared monorepo, CI/CD pipeline, and project management board
  • Sprint planning session with your assigned mentor — define the first feature backlog
  • Foundations workshop: Git branching strategy, PR etiquette, and code review standards
Phase 2

Feature Sprint 1

  • Two-week sprints: pick up tickets, implement, open PRs, and merge after review
  • Weekly 1:1 mentor review — code quality, design decisions, and progress check
  • Integration testing session: write end-to-end tests for shipped features
  • Mid-sprint retro: what worked, what blocked, what to change next sprint
Phase 3

Feature Sprint 2 + Integration

  • Higher-complexity tickets: service integrations, performance optimisation, async workflows
  • Cross-team integration sprint: coordinate with other domain tracks (Web Design ↔ Full-Stack, AI ↔ Full-Stack)
  • Security and code-quality audit: mentor flags issues, team fixes them in a dedicated review sprint
  • AI-augmented development workshop: using Claude and AI utilities the way modern engineering teams ship
Phase 4

Polish, Deploy & Showcase

  • Production deployment on cloud infrastructure (Vercel, Railway, AWS, or Render depending on track)
  • Final QA and bug-bash sprint — triage, prioritise, and close blockers
  • Showcase preparation: build a demo video, update README, and clean up PR history
  • Demo Day: present your shipped product to mentors and the ByteStackOne team

Own full features end-to-end — API design, database schema, and the UI that consumes it.

Next.js 14 (App Router)Supabase / PostgreSQLPrisma ORMTypeScriptDocker

Web Design

Design and build production web interfaces — from UI/UX and design systems through to the React implementation.
